The BC Seniors Games Society cordially invites all residents of British Columbia aged 55 to gather in the Comox Valley and Campbell River from September 15 to 18, 2010. The Province of British Columbia has been divided into 12 Zones. Each Zone has its own volunteers who sign up members. You are even welcome as a non-participant to be a spectator/supporter and to be involved in other activities that are provided such as sharing the lunches and attending the banquet and dance that provides an exciting culmination to the Games.
Eligibility:
- Participants are those persons who are 55 by December 31, the year of the Games. (Except: Track & Field - which is the 1st day of competition).
- Must be residents of British Columbia.
- Must have their principal residences in the Zone for which they are competing.
- Must be a Member of the BC Seniors Games Society (see costs below).
Rules:
- Participants are only permitted to compete in one sport or activity at the Games.
- Many sports or activities have more than one age category. Older Participants may play in a lower category only if there is a vacancy.
- Some events have both recreational and competitive divisions.

What we do with your information:
Information is collected under the authority of the BC Seniors Games Society (BCSGS) as collector and custodian of this information. The information provided will be used to determine the eligibility to participate in the Comox Valley and Campbell River 2010 BC Seniors Games.
On confirmation of eligibility, the information will be used to arrange liability insurance coverage with respect to voluntary participation of registered participants and volunteers in the Comox Valley and Campbell River 2010 BC Seniors Games. The name, home town, and sport of the registered participant will be provided to media outlets and available on the BC Seniors Games Society or the Comox Valley and Campbell River 2010 Society websites. The name, address and image of the registered participants may be used in non-commercial promotion/development of sports by the BCSGS.
The names, addresses and images may be provided to the Premier and the Miniser Responsible for Healthy Living and Sport.
Costs:
- Annual Membership Fee - $15.00
- Participants pay a $50.00 registration fee and some sports have an additional sport fee:
- Dragon Boat Racing - $35.00
- Five Pin Bowling - $15.00
- Badminton - $5.00
- Golf – $50.00
- Ice Curling - $15.00
- Ice Hockey - $15.00
- Slo-Pitch - $2.00
- Track and Field - if entered in more than 5 events - add $10.00 per additional event
- Non-Participants (those who wish to be involved in the Games as a spectator/supporter and wish to receive lunches and attend the banquet, etc.) must be a Member of the BC Seniors Games Society and pay a $35.00 Non-Participant fee.
NOTE: The 2011 BC Seniors Games will be hosted in Nelson, Castlegar and Trail from August 16 to 20.
The 2012 BC Seniors Games will be hosted in Burnaby from August 21 to 25.
